Today, we looked at the latest trend in e-mobility: E-Bikes. Being in the Netherlands, biking is one of the biggest ways of commuting. Despite bad weather many of our workforce bike to work regularly. The distances are by far not short and with the cold time of the year around the corner an e-bike could be a great solution to be quicker at work. Besides travelling to work with the bike, an e-bike is a great alternative to choosing a car. Distances are becoming shorter and one might prefer to opt for the bike instead of the car to save on parking and gas money.

In order to show this new trend to our staff as one of our employer sustainability initiatives, we arranged a trial of e-bikes for our staff. This noon from 12.30 to 13.30 our staff could try out different types of e-bikes. Our team was excited and tried out the different versions of bikes that were available. The result: E-Bikes are not only practical but also fun. The fastest e-bike at Resato today could travel around 45km/h. Impressive or not?

Not only the fun factor was in the focus but Friesland Lease also informed about the possibility to lease e-bikes. “It is interesting to see that one can lease e-bikes”, said one of our staff.

We have to say: E-Bikes are fun and can be a great, and most certainly are a healthier, alternative to a car.
