Assen, Netherlands. The Galway based branch of Pirtek has invested in a Resato type SLU hose test bench to improve it’s pressure testing process. The pressure test system reduces pre-filling and setup time and provides a simple method to generate accurate, digital test certificates.

In recent years, the demand for hose certificates in various industries has increased, especially in the oil, gas and pharmaceutical industry, where safety and reliability are crucial and detailed documentation on pressure tests of industrial hose assemblies is needed. For hydraulic hoses the demand is still low, but according to Managing Director of Pirtek Galway/Limerick, Sean Howard, it is increasing. To be able to meet future demand and expand into new markets, the company considered new solutions to improve their pressure testing process and ability to generate reliable certificates.

The Resato SLU with a pre-fill pump provides Pirtek Galway/Limerick with reduced setup time and less maintenance costs for spare parts in low pressure ranges. Moreover, the integrated test chamber in the unit allow operators to load and unload the machine quicker.

The decision for a Resato system was made from the positive experience that Pirtek had gathered in the past. Having worked with two other Resato units, Pirtek was convinced of the reliability of the equipment. Moreover, they valued the knowledge of Resato in the field of high pressure pressure testing. “We knew from experiences with other companies that Resato has the knowledge to build a system that covers our range from 2 bar to 2,000 bar in pressure testing.” said Managing Director Sean Howard.

With the new Resato SLU, Pirtek Galway/Limerick will be able to enter new market segments that are seeking accurate certification in a short turnaround time.
