Resato supplies system for fully-automated hyperbaric pressure testing to Balmoral Offshore Engineering in Q2 2018 Full-automation testing reduces operator error and enhances efficiency and safety

In order to perform hyperbaric pressure testing in three hyperbaric pressure vessels (two 20 m3 and one 40 m3 vessel) with a pressure of 475 bar, Balmoral Offshore Engineering required a reliable pressure testing solution for their new test facility. The company is based in Aberdeen, Scotland and is dedicated to technologically-driven composite and polymer solutions for today’s demanding global subsea and deepwater oil and gas industry.
 
In order for Balmoral to reliably carry out test procedures, Resato will supply a test system setup consisting of two hydraulic-driven high pressure pump systems and three control systems, called HPU. The system is capable of pressurizing 40,000 liter objects with a rate of 2.5 bars a minute up to 10 bars a minute until the maximum pressure of 475 bar is reached. Being fully automated, operator errors are reduced. The test sequence is performed without any operator interference and test procedures can be established by trained personnel.
 
Eventually, the system will support the long-term growth plans of the Scottish company. In the future, when testing demand increases, additional pumps and / or control systems can be easily added to the setup and integrated into the Balmoral reporting structure.
