Ole Schnieders receives Honors Certificate
Last week Wednesday, November 25, was a special occasion for Resato and one of our staff members. It was the first time that graduates from the Hanze University of Applied Sciences who took part in the International Business Talent (IBT) program received their certificate from the Honors College of the university.
Our team member Ole Schnieders who has just graduated from the International Business School this summer has been part of the program and successfully finished his traineeship at Resato. In January 2015, Ole has started at Resato with a research project for his bachelor thesis about high pressure components. For this project, he travelled to the Hannover Messe to interview potential customers and took initiative to find information within the organization. The result was a well-worked out business plan with concrete actions to take next. In July, after his graduation, he began his traineeship at Resato in the marketing department where he supported the creation of an online marketing strategy for communication. Even though this has not been the field of study positive results can be seen from the strategy.
There is a lot that Resato can learn from the ambition and drive from young professionals like Ole. Hence, we are happy that he will stay with us for another 10 months from now in both marketing and business development.
The Ceremony
The IBT ceremony started with speeches of the Dean of the Kenniscentrum Ondernemerschrap (KCO) followed by some words about the program from Miriam Kleytman, one of the participants in the IBT program. The consultant and initiator of the IBT program, Louise Van Weerden, summarized her idea about the program next. Before the certificates were handed to the participants, Rob Verhofstad (Board Member of the Hanze University) explained the importance of the program to the University and the Northern Netherlands.
All agreed that the program was a benefit for the students and companies in the Northern Netherlands to develop personal skills of the students, bring ambition and fresh ideas into the organizations, and develop internationally. The certificates resemble the excellence of the students, their sense of entrepreneurial thinking, and ambition as these are the pillars of the program itself, said Rob Verhofstad, Board Member of the Hanze University.
The IBT Program
The International Business Talent (IBT Program) of the Hanze University of Applied Sciences brings ambitious students together companies in the Northern Netherlands for challenging projects. The students are doing business research for an organization as part of their graduation project (GPJ). Whereas many projects stop here, the IBT program starts. After graduation, the students remain in the organization to implement their research outcomes and recommendations. During this period, the participants receive expert coaching by experienced business professionals that assist them in developing personally and professionally.
“The IBT program gives students the last 20% of being an international business professional and starting a career”, said Miriam Kleytman, the representative of the IBT candidates. The program has helped the former students to experience personal liability for decisions in business. “This is also the difference between an internship and the program”, Miriam pointed out.
The IBT and Resato
Resato has decided to participate in the first round of the IBT program to get new ideas into the company and help talented students start their careers. The values of “excellence” and “ambitiousness” can be found at Resato as well. “We want to be excellent and are ambitious to make changes and strive for our vision. For next year, we are again taking one talented student on board to help us become a better company”, said Rob Castien (CEO).
