Water
Water H2O
Water is a nearly colorless and odorless liquid and is vital for all known forms of life. It is the main constituent of oceans, rivers and lakes, and consists of two hydrogen atoms and an oxygen atom connected by covalent bonds.
Water is a commonly used medium for hydrostatic tests due to its low costs and easy availability. It is used in many high pressure testing applications for burst testing as it is usually harmless to the system to be tested. To make leaks easier to see, often a red or fluorescent dye is added to the water.
Resato's Experience with Water Testing in the Oil & Gas Industry
Many of our customers in the oil & gas industry use water to perform tests on piping, pressure vessels, BOPs and SCCVS. We have supplied multiple units to global oil subcontractors, oilfield operators, and maintenance companies who perform high pressure burst testing with water.
